Chocochip cookies

    1. We have 100 gm of frozen salted butter. If you are using ghee then you can add a pinch of salt.

    1. Here we have 1 cup all purpose flour (Maida), 2/3 cup confectionery or powdered sugar, 1 tsp of baking powder, 2 tbsp pf milk for kneading, cutters to shape the cookies. However, in this recipe I have not used any cutters.

    1. Vanilla essence, 1 tsp.

    1. 1/2 cup of Chocochips, the star of the recipe.

    1. Add maida to butter and using your hands, incorporate the butter with Maida.

    1. Add sugar, baking powder, vanilla essence and knead softly.

    1. This should give you a crumbly mixture.

    1. The mixture should have enough moisture, so that it holds itself when you bind it.

    1. Adding chocochips to the dough.

    1. At this point, we will refrigerate the dough as the butter in it has melted.

    1. After refrigerating it for 10 minutes, you should be able to knead a firm dough.

    1. This is how I have shaped up the dough using my hands. It goes back in the fridge for 15 minutes.

    1. Till the dough cools, we can prepare our baking tray. Grease it with butter and sprinkle some flour as shown. Also, in the meantime, pre-heat the oven to 250 deg for 10 mins.

    1. After 15 mins in the fridge, the dough is tough again and this makes for an easy and clean cutting.

    1. Place the cut pieces in the tray and put the tray in the oven for 15 mins. Keep checking for the right color and reduce temperature to 200 deg if required.
